Tiger Woods and Augusta National Golf Club have announced an exciting new partnership aimed at bringing both high-quality educational opportunities and more affordable golf to Augusta, Ga. This collaboration will result in the opening of a TGR Learning Lab and a new, nine-hole short course designed by Woods and his team at TGR Design.
The TGR Learning Lab
The TGR Learning Lab in Augusta will deliver STEAM-focused educational programming to students in the Richmond County School System and surrounding areas. The Lab, set to open in April 2028, will be located at the former site of Lamar Elementary School. The programs offered will include career and college readiness, health and well-being, and STEAM enrichment activities. These programs will be free of charge, fostering an inspiring learning environment for under-resourced communities.
Reimagining The Patch
A key component of this partnership is the renovation of the Augusta Municipal Golf Course, known locally as “The Patch.” The redesigned 18-hole layout will be crafted by renowned golf architects Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, while the new short course, to be called The Loop at The Patch, will be designed by the TGR team. These new facilities will include expansive practice areas suitable for golfers of all skill levels.

A Bright Future for Augusta
This partnership between TGR Foundation and Augusta National underscores a shared commitment to community enrichment. Through initiatives like the TGR Learning Lab and the transformation of The Patch, this collaboration aims to provide both educational and recreational opportunities that will have lasting impacts on youth and the broader community.
