Catch Willow Smith is performing live in Atlanta today, Friday, Sept. 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Black-owned Cascade Skating Rink on Southwest, Atlanta. Walmart is hosting the free concert. Originally intended as an exclusive for students at three nearby high schools, the concert has been opened to the general public. Smith will also be performing unreleased songs from her upcoming album “COPINGMECHANISM.” The event is free, but families attending must RSVP at walmartfreeskate.com/atlanta.

The concert is part of the retail giant’s “Walmart Free Skate” as a back-to-school event in six cities — including Fayetteville, Charlotte, Jacksonville, North Dallas, and Kansas. But the one in Atlanta is the only one that includes a free concert. The free skate event will also have interactive stations with cosmetics from companies like Rainbow Beauty and AF94 Makeup. It’ll feature Instagram-worthy moments and complimentary food.

“Walmart knows back-to-school is about more than books and pencils. It’s a time for communities to come together in celebration of students. Roller rinks have always been centers of community and camaraderie – places for inclusivity, self-expression and empowerment. So, while we’ll always be here to ensure you’ve got the items you need to succeed, we’re also here to bring you together. And today, that means we’re putting down our pencils and lacing up our skates,” Casey Schlaybaugh, Vice President of Brand Strategy and Marketing at Walmart, said in a press release.

Students from Frederick Douglas High School, Lithia Springs High School and South Cobb High School who attends will be going home with freebies and a $50 gift card for their back-to-school supplies courtesy of Walmart. The retailer is also giving the three school gift certificates to help with the purchase of school supplies and resources that would be needed throughout the year.

For those who cannot attend the live concert, you can opt to watch it live streamed at Walmart.com/Live.
